Peris Gachahi is an award-winning digital investigations journalist based in Kenya. She is currently at Agence France-Presse (AFP), where she tracks and debunks mis/disinformation across Africa--including AI-generated content--while also reporting for the AFP wire. Previously with Code for Africa’s PesaCheck and Africa Uncensored, she has produced in-depth documentaries, explainers, and data stories on varying public interest topics. Peris is also an experienced fact-checking trainer, having equipped journalists and civil society organizations across the continent with digital verification skills to strengthen media information resilience.
